I haven't posted in a while, have actually been kind of busy. In the past month Kevin and I moved into our new house, I started school, went back to VT to be a groomsman in my friend Clayton's wedding, been painting and stuff, and looking for work...

Hopefully I'll have some pictures up from the wedding, but I'm not sure about it. I think I'll be snagging some photos of the house off of Kevin's camera, not entirely sure when I'll get them up though.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Apparently he's a Mormon and doesn't support gay marriage, and people think that is grounds for not playing a game developed and published by great companies. Chair Entertainment (the developer) also created Undertow a few years back, which was fun, and I sent them an email asking if they have any stance on the issue so if I get a response I'll post it.

Maybe it's because I'm younger, but I don't really understand the point of not listening to music, watching a TV show, or otherwise enjoying the creative output of someone with opposing views. I don't like PETA, I don't believe in God, I don't do drugs, but I don't think that means I should discount the creations people who do support PETA, believe in God, and love doing drugs just because we have different ideas about things.

I don't know if I could support tolerance and diversity by avoiding quality creative output by people that are are different.

<lj:music>The Third Memory - Il A Fallu Ne Rien Dire</lj:music>

so we ended up getting the house, we get the keys on august 31 and then moving stuff throughout September.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also kind of not looking forward to it because I have been unsuccessful in my current pursuit of a job in the area. Hopefully today when I'm out I'll find some place actually hiring but it's looking like the job market around here is a bit scarce.

I haven't been sleeping that well lately, although that's not really news because I don't think I've slept well (in general) since I was like 10 or 11.

I finished reading The Devil You Know last week, and started reading Me Talk Pretty One Day. So far it's alright, I'm not that far into it, but it has some good parts.

last night I ended up going into the storage room to organize our boxes, putting the full ones at the back of the storage, moving the empty (or almost empty) boxes to the front as to help make packing a bit easier. also, the apartment managers finally got someone in here to kind of fix the ceiling in the back bedroom; the paint started peeling and stuff over a year ago when they were fixing the roof and rain leaked in one of the days. all the guy did was plaster over it so I don't think that's much of a fix but whatever, we're out of here in a few months.

I still don't know what I'm going to do about school. I don't know where I'd like to go and right now I'm not even sure if I should apply for the school I want to go to or just do some general education at one of the schools here and then transfer or something... I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I'm a little bit sore from the gym today. I don't think I've really lost any weight or anything since I started in May but I'm not really looking to drop a million pounds in 3 months or anything. I guess as long as I'm making some progress I should be happy with it.

I don't know what else to write about so I'm going to go to the store and whatnot. hope you guys are having a nice summer, stay out of the heat (unless you like that sort of thing)

so hanging out in Vermont was a lot of fun. We went to Ben & Jerry's again, got t-shirts this time. We also got frames for pictures that my brother took, which I think look great, and we got to hang out with family mostly. We got back here Monday night, house inspection and food with Simon and Melissa was on Tuesday night, yesterday Kevin signed the papers for our amended offer on the house so the sellers have until tomorrow to accept or decline. Last night we also ended up going to the fireworks with Simon and Melissa and that was a good time. I'm not a giant fan of fireworks but it was a good time to hang out and stuff.

Nothing really today. It's too hot to do much, so I've been hanging out inside and about to watch Weeds season 4 on Blu-Ray... good times.

so we've been looking at houses, and Kevin's friend Joan was showing us some places and we ended up putting in an offer on one of them. They accepted after some posturing; so today we did things like put down a deposit and do mortgage stuff. When we get back from VT Kevin is going to schedule the inspection and if the house passes inspection, we should be getting the keys to the place on August 31.

It's a nice place so I'm excited, hopefully it passes inspection and everything works out.

also, got my SIN a few days ago so now I can do things like get a bank account, apply for jobs, all that awesome stuff.

I'm looking forward to being back in VT to see friends and family.

yesterday I had my follow-up appointment with my oral surgeon, and it went well. he said it all looks good, it's just going to take a few weeks for the bone to finish healing up... until it does, I have to use this little crazy syringe thing to shoot water into the pockets where my bottom wisdom teeth once were. Kevin also had a dentist appointment, and that went well.

we also drove around browsing different houses on sale, there are a lot of them around here. and then we got to hang out with Shane, and that was fun. Kevin grilled up some burgers and we ate some salad and rice, and then later had apple pie and ice cream for dessert.

it was a pretty rad weekend, and that seems to be the case lately. now I am just waiting on the CIC in Windsor to give me a call to set up an appointment to go there and find out if I get my permanent residence.

What would that entail?"

I think that a perfect night be spent with thebeartruth and some friends. Eating pizza is definitely part of it, although whether he makes it or we get it somewhere is kind of irrelevant. After eating delicious pizza, I think we would partake in some Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour for a while. After everyone is rocked out, we will watch a great movie, probably with delicious snacks and general chillery on the couch. Follwing the movie, probably just hanging out until people get tired and then go to sleep.

and to anyone else that wants to ask a question, you can do so by commenting on this entry.

yesterday was cool, I went to the dentist and got two fillings. it was actually not that bad, only took about half hour.

today no plans really. did most of the chores yesterday so not much to do today, which is kind of good.

one of my usb ports on the front of my computer stopped working... well that's not entirely true. it still supplies power, but it's not recognizing any devices. I will have to delve a bit further into the problem at some point, I'm sure, but for now I'm just going to deal with it.

I haven't been sleeping great lately. it's not a big deal, just kind of annoying.

yesterday we went to Mexican Town, it was pretty tasty. on the way back we stopped into immigration to see about a passport stamp or visitor's record or anything... and again, the people at the booth say one thing and the people at immigration say another.

it's just kind of frustrating when everyone you talk to gives you a different answer... and then the next person makes you feel like a retard for listening to the last person you talked to.

other than that we just watched some more of The Shield season six, which was nice.

tonight I guess we're going to the mongolian grill to meet up with simon and melissa, so that should be rad.

"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class."

that is the first sentence of a letter from immigration... a letter letting me know that I can get an open work permit and/or a study permit. and that I'm one step closer to becoming a permanent resident. hopefully I just have to jump through a few more hoops before I'm done.

:)
